Untitled

I was falling
Into the infinite below
Or was it the depths of
My own evil,
I do not know.

My hand broke my fall,
It pained,
The same hand
Which inflicted on you so much pain.
The path ahead of me
Was dark.
Was it the darkness
In my heart it signified,
Or was it the simple
Absence of light,
I do not know.

This is the same heart
Which coaxed me to give you
So much pain
I stood where I fell,
Looking at my few options,
Thinking about them
With my mind.

The same mind which
Planned the pain
I gave you.
Helplessness dawned over me,
Showing me that the
Only way is forward,
My only future was to
Walk through.

I walked and walked,
Not knowing my way,
Not certain of my goal,
But held on to the last straw of hope,
That it would lead me to you.

A cold breeze swept
Through the path.
Strange voices calling
Out to me,
Troubling me,
The same way I did to you.
The surroundings became
Ghastly,
Did it signify my evil deeds,
Or signal the oncoming of the devil
To take me away?
I do now know.

Even with all the
Pain I inflicted on you,
You never left me,
Never gave up,
Always re-iterating,
How great our friendship
Is.

Looking back now,
I could only shudder
At all my past actions.
But all I could do
Was walk ahead.
I was scared,
Not at the
Uncertainty of my future,
But at the prospect
That I’ll never
Meet you again.

The sound of my own
Footsteps haunted me,
Sending a very human
Chill up my spine,
Which I’m sure you’ve felt,
So many times.

Your silhouette
Only reflected your purity,
Always so quiet, so calm
So composed,
Always nurturing what you had.
You were always blooming
Under the sun,
Always soaring high
Into the infinite,
Your shadow dancing on the ground.
I do not know what I was
All this time,
But certain I was
The one causing you pain.

You were the embodiment
Of light,
Spreading hope and joy
Where ever you went,
Extinguishing darkness,
Replacing it with light.
If only,
My voice could reach
back through to the past,
I would tell you
How much I miss you.

If only
You could give me
A sign that I would
Meet you again,
Show me that path,
I would walk on spikes,
Run through fire,
Carve a path through hell,
Give up my life,
If only you would give me
A sign.

My emotions took over me,
And tears trickled down my cheeks.
Why this happened
I do not know.

As I continued forward,
Wondering whether we
Will meet again or
Not.
The breeze,
Still as strong.

Maybe I’m dreaming,
But I could see
Ten millions of small lights,
Fireflies,
Flying all around,
Extinguishing the darkness,
Replacing it with light.
Is it you my friend,
Or am I dreaming?
I do not know’

‘And the fireflies came
Closer to him,
Re-arranging themselves into
A figure he longed for
So much.
His smile grew larger,
Brightening up his face.
Their hands reached out once more, meeting,
And eventually he collapsed,
Knowing that he had reaches
Paradise.
Was all this that happened real
Or an illusion?
All taking place in his mind,
he does not know
And neither do I’ .

So you want to hear a story, eh? Well judging from your faces lads, half of you seem outright uninterested and the other half is at least trying to show some interest. Just what I’d expect from you idiotic little nuisances. But even among you all, I see one interested face. So, I won’t bore him and just for his sake I will tell you a story, one that dates back many years ago.
Many years ago, when I was about your age and only a bit shorter , my father kept on telling me stories about a treasure.  A fabled treasure said to hold enough wealth to fulfill a man’s greed. And like all your other wretched treasures, this too was nothing more than a myth, or so as I thought, or bounded myself to do so.
This treasure was more of a curse that had haunted my family for generations. Every time we thought it went away, it came back like a bad habit. More akin to a plague if you ask me, taking away the lives of most men of my family. Pathetic piece of crap if you ask this old geezer.
Even on his deathbed, my old man went on babbling about the wretched treasure just like his old man did on his. No words of encouragement to either of his sons or any show of love to his wife. No wonder Mama left both my brother and me after that day, she was relieved not to be bound by the shackles of the old man and she went along with another old man.
And this saddened my weak, sensitive and
emotional brother to fall apart and die young. And to me, that was the breaking point, not only did the old man ruin his own life, he ruined the lives of others as well. And at my brother’s gravestone, I vowed to put an end to this wretched myth and find this mystical, or invisible if you may, treasure to end its curse on families. And that day, I set out to act on my most outrageous decision ever, and the man you see in front of you narrating the story the story is what came out of it.

Darkness

Years have passed,
Months gone by,
Days struggled through,
Since the time
I’ve planted the seed,
The seed of darkness
Inside of me.

A life spent killing,
Torturing, assaulting,
Doing the dark deeds
Of a devil.

An age gone by,
And I’m yet to find myself,
Find where I stand
Since the time I’ve started walking.

Holding my drink in my hand,
Staring at the horizon.
Looking back at all the dark
Deeds I had committed,
At all the darkness preceding me,
Peering into the abyss of
Darkness in my heart.

And after all this when
Years have passed,
Months gone by,
Days struggled through,
It all boils down to it,
And I ask myself,
Is this why I like Dark Coffee.

Some weird title you find fitting :P

The only reason I wrote this was because I was bored at 3 in the night and well I had this idea waiting to be written down and since I had nothing better to do, I just wrote this. Hope you enjoy this.
‘Oh come on in. please enter my castle, my humble home’, he said in his usual calm and demented voice.
‘Don’t flatter yourself, its anything but humble’, he lashed back in his gravelly voice.
‘Oh Oh!! And the only answer he received was an angry grunt. ”Well let’s play a game shall we?’ he again taunted him. And again the only answer was an angry grunt. ‘Oh come on, don’t be like this.’
‘Ok then, we’ll play a game, one last time’, his voice becoming cool. ‘Only this time, I choose the game. If you’re brave enough to accept.’
‘Well ok hero, let’s see what you’ve got.’
‘It would be my pleasure’. And in an instant he quickly took out his pistol, a standard Desert Eagle. ‘The rules are simple actually. I shot and you have to dodge but if I hit you, you die and you leave us alone. If you dodge all seven of my bullets, you win, otherwise its game over for you’.
‘Oh!!!! Such a wonderful toy. Do you know how to play with it?’ again taunting him.
‘Why don’t we test it right now eh?’ he lashed back in anger, readying his gun and taking his aim.
‘Look around hero, look around. The place is surrounded by my guards, ready to shoot you. If you shoot, we both die’.
‘A win win situation by all means then, eh?’ he responded with utmost confidence.
‘Hahahahahaha…….’ he let out a maniacal laugh. ‘No’, he said, suddenly becoming serious. His expressions signifying his anger and his body language changed all of a sudden. ‘Not for you. You see, my legacy will continue even after my death. My followers will rise to the occasion and take my place. While in your case, after your death, everything you worked for so hard will fall. So go ahead hero, press the trigger and watch the world you worked so hard to achieve crumple down into ruins’.

Us

“There is today,
And then again
There was that day.
        That day,
        So many years ago,
        When our souls met,
        For the first time,
        Our eyes catching a glimpse
Of each other.
You saw me,
And I saw you.
I still remember
Your face,
It was a happy face.
You wore such a big smile.
Your face was shining,
Reflecting light from the sun.
Your eyes,
Blue in colour,
Reflected the purity of your soul.
Your expressions,
So blank,
Yet conveyed so much.
This is how your face was
When we met,
For the first time.

        And mine,
        I don’t even remember it,
        And I want to hope
        That you do.
It’s as they say,
When two souls meet,
Something is born.
Since then,
We have done so much,
That now in my current state
Is too much of a chore to remember.

        We were like
        Brothers,
        At times like
        The best of friends
        At times like rivals.
        And then that one time,
When I was out for your blood
When we both loved the same beauty.
Even though we were
So much,
I still don’t know what was born,
What we were,
I still don’t know what
Ended us,
Was it you’re your untimely death
Or was it my arrogance?
        You were like the sun,
        And I was the moon.
        I relied on you for
        My ray of light,
        My ray of hope.
You were like the hawk,
Soaring in the infinite,
Whose shadow moved around
On the ground,
While I was the snake,
Envious of being in your shadow,
So envious,
That I never realized what I had,
What I’ve now lost.
        You were like the blooming
        Tree in the sun and
        I was like the roots
        Branching out underground.
You lived because you loved it,
Enjoyed it,
You lived to win,
And I,
I lived to defeat you.
        Looking back now,
        What did my existence mean
        When you left me
        What was I without you?
When it was you who defined me,
I was like the moon without the sun,
        Roots without a live tree,
A pair with just one object,
A life without a definite meaning,
        A life without existence.
I thank fate
For making us meet.
That was the greatest gift.
        And if you’re up there,
        Listening to what I’m blabbering,
        I want you to know,
        I wish that one day,
Our souls meet in the afterlife,
To know finally know what we are,
        To know what was born,
        To be defined once again,
        To exist once again.”
“When he stopped,
He became light.
He looked up into the night sky,
Searching or the star
Which contained his friend’s soul.
Smiling for the first time
When he searched for him.
And all I could do
Was smile back.”

THE NIGHT

now i know i know that the title of the poem is unoriginal and uninspired but that was the best i could come up with!!! :)

I was sitting on the terrace,
Cross legged,
Admiring the beauty of the nightsky
Imbibing everything the silence had to offer,
Thinking about you,
Wondering whether I was lucky enough to be in your thoughts the same way you were in mine,
Wondering whether you too had your eyes set on the jewel of the nightsky
Wondering whether your heart bled for me the same way my heart did

And all I could do was look at the night sky,
And wait and wait and wait
Till I could find the answer I longed for so much.

Strange Obsessions

As I let the water flow
through me,
I could feel it,
Feel it touching my body,
Dancing on my arm,

Reminding me of someone like me,

One who would play
with plants,
Touch their thorns and
be excited,
One who would die a bit inside
when they died,
Come to life as they rose,

As i let the water envelope me,
For a change i felt alive,
Away from here and
closer to her,

With wings protruding,
I took flight,
into my own twisted fantasy,
To find people with
Strange Obsessions
Like me,
Like us.
